Timestrech is one of D&B’s most distinctive techniques and part of its history and identity. But here it appears not sonically but historically uniting two of São Paulo’s talents spanning two decades of genre in the same track. The original by Semper Volt, the electrically eclectic project of João Tenorio (FKA Telefunken in the old days), kickstarted his album Cristal by serving bubbling build ups that erupted sequentially over a Coco-esque percussive pattern, whereas L-Side’s take mutates the beats into a fast gliding groove while it permutates the vocals across the syncopated beat to create a fun roller that has everything to be played from Sardinia to Bristol all the way to Siberia and Krakow during the summer ahead. The result is what anyone who loves the intricate beats and chest rumbling, hop shaking frequencies of D&B could expect from the encounter of two of the finest musical offerings from a city that’s always been so filled with talent.

O original de Semper Volt, o projeto eletricamente eclético de João Tenório (FKA Telefunken nos velhos tempos), dá partida a seu álbum Cristal servindo buildups borbulhantes que irrompiam sequencialmente sobre um padrão percussivo à moda do Coco, enquanto a versão de L-Side transmuta as batidas num ritmo rápido e deslizante enquanto permuta os vocais ao longo da batida sincopada para criar um roller divertido que tem tudo para ser tocado da Sardenha a Bristol até a Sibéria e Cracóvia durante o verão que está chegando.
